catching up

It has been a long time since we have updated this blog and there certainly has been a lot happening! Since the previous post, Emily has graduated from the University of Florida, and we have both signed on for graduate school in California next year.

The last few weeks have gone by incredibly fast for both of us. Finishing up exams, projects at work, moving out of my apartment, packing up our things, and leaving Gainesville have all happened so quickly. Parting with both friends and colleagues at work came all too soon. When I think back to when Jennie, Ryan, and Austin came over to Emily's apartment to bring us dinner on our last night in Gainesville, I find it hard to belive that I am sitting in a tent in the middle of California (32 51' 14" N 116 40' 23" W). So, how did we get here?
