day eight: taking it easy

Waking up from a peaceful rest at our nice quiet campground, coffee and eggs sounded much better than hitting the road. We had a nice breakfast, enjoyed the scenery, and packed up our bikes.

We finished the stretch of road with the hills and dips and found our way to Palo Verde. From here on the terrain was mostly agricultural, as we were now in a valley. However, this afforded us 360 degree views of mountains as we could see them clearly over the flat fields.

Taking a break in Blythe, we had a picinic lunch of tuna and drumstick ice cream in a local park and made plans for the road ahead of us. From here we were just a short ride to our campground, a KOA on the Colorado river and the California- Arizona border.

We enjoyed the pool, hot showers, dinner, and sunset.
